I did a very silly thing. When I booked my plane tixs from US to Vietnam, I forgot to add my husband’s middle name in the tix.

I did a very silly thing. When I booked my plane tixs from US to Vietnam, I forgot to add my husband’s middle name in the tix. The passport has his middle name but the tix doesn’t. I tried calling to add his middle name but the airline is requesting me to cancel and re- purchase the tixs again – I declined bc that would be sooo expensive. We are supposed to be leaving in a wk! So my question is, would my husband have trouble getting to the flight. Everything is correct but just not his middle name. I already feel dumb for my mistake so plz be kind 🙏

This is what I know. If flying own country’s flight, usually without middle name is ok. But if fly other countries’s flight middle name is needed.

I never add middle names to any of my flight tickets, despite middle names being on passports. As long as First name & Last name are correct & match passport + ticket it shouldn’t be an issue

Travel Consultant here, No it’s not mandatory to have your middle name on air tickets even if it’s on your passport

Some airlines charge a small fee for name correction since they have to reissue the ticket.

It’s not IATA rules but I had issue with internal flight in Vietnam

I’m leaving this week so will find out soon. The whole family don’t have middle name added.

Most airlines don’t care about a middle name but on the visa it matters. When I checked into my flights it gave an error because the visa didn’t match my boarding pass name but when I got to the airport everything was fine. Like others said just make sure your passport and visa match exactly.

I did the same thing on a ticket purchased on an app..I received the same answer as you ….absolutely no changes to name on ticket. I went to the airline counter( not check in )at the airport and they corrected it for me for $20…Good luck!!
