Go to both, I couldn’t make my mind up, so having a week in phuket ans a week in da nang.
Find a way to do both. The people are very warm and friendly.
Thailand is warmer vietnam often wet.

We are also thinking of a 2 month trip to Vietnam and Thailand, either Jan/Feb or Feb/Mar of 2027…would like to be in Vietnam on Feb 14
Vietnam but both are good
I’ve been to 5 different cities in Vietnam which I enjoyed only been to Thailand once to Phuket Island loved it there going again this year to both countries flights are cheap between Countries so instead of choosing got to both and preferably use Vietnam Airline and Viet Air .
Easy choice for us. Vietnam. It was so easy, people lovely and great things to see and do.
