Help. My partner wants to travel to Vietnam but I am undecided if I want to go. I’m too old to rough it so would like to have a similar experience to travelling to Bali (luxury without the Bali belly). Can anyone suggest where might be nice to go? I’m also thinking maybe Singapore or Japan as an alternative. Thank you in advance

I’m a 20 year veteran of living and working in Vietnam. It can be a 5 star experience.
Kula Lumpur Malaysia. It’s a city, with a big night market . Shopping, and has a good hygiene rating.
But there is plenty of luxury and clean food in vietnam?
Each does whatever they want to do with this one and u can also find a trip that has common elements? Also in Vietnam there are sooo many luxurious places very similar to Bali (way cheaper). Been to both and many other in SE Asia, Vietnam has amazing food.
Singapore and Japan are different to Vietnam. You can find nice hotels, resorts by the beach in Đa Nang. If you want privacy maybe have a look at the Intercontinental hotel in Da Nang.
I have recently been to Vietnam it is definitely worth the visit and somewhere I’d like to return to. there’s nothing to worry about. we stayed in cheap hotels and they were fine (I’d rather have spending money than a luxury hotel i don’t intend to spend too much time in). Do it and enjoy
Vietnam has the luxury you’re looking for. If you’re worried about Bali belly, just take collostum tablets before each meal. I’m 60 and travelled in the last 12 months. Drank cocktails and ate everywhere. My pick is Hoi An. Beautiful old town to give the feel of Vietnam, great food and close to beaches if that’s your go. We stayed at small hotel called Maison Vy Hotel, so peaceful and serene.
You will get much better value luxury accommodation in Vietnam..
You will enjoy Vietnam – have just had our entire Family over which included my 75 year old mother and her 83 year old husband. We did a week in Ho Chi Minh and 5 days Hoi An. We did a lot of walking in both places but also used the Grab cars a lot. I organised three private tours as well. Their preference was Hoi An – we stayed at the Hoi A Blue Sky Boutique Hotel and Spa and the Triple E Metro Men Thanh in HCMC. Both hotels were lovely. Our entire group enjoyed themselves. No illness and no issues with food and my mum has coeliacs disease so that added an extra dimension. We ate at local restaurants and both hotels had breakfast included.
We have just arrived home from Singapore, Ho Chi Minh, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hong Kong. The most amazing trip! JUST DO IT!!
