Make sure if it’s USD that there are no baby tears in any of your bills. The exchange places wouldn’t take them. I had the same trouble in Trinidad trying to buy a couple bottles of water.
Avoid airport exchange.
If u pay in USD you get change back in dong!

Better euro but any currency is ok . Second ,when you get out of airport , at the waiting area the cost for unlimited sim card internet is around 400-500vd . Means 20 euro . That’s all
Bring lots of USD – they like $ and there get some dongs from an ATM. hotels can exchange USD for Dongs at a good rate.

Use your credit/debit card at ATM. Get a little cash whilst you’re there as anyway the exchange rate will be far better. It’s not the dark ages. Paying with your card is totally normal.
