Had a horrendous experience booking via Agoda. We booked & paid online and received a confirmation email that all was ok. We arrived in Nha Trang on Saturday night and when we arrived at the property they had no record of the booking. Agoda confirmed they had taken payment but not passed on the booking to the property owner. Two great security guards at the property (with excellent English) sat us down, logged us into the WiFi and gave tips on the areas we were considering. Agoda refunded our payment within 12 hours & gave a 20% credit on my account which will never be used as I’ve closed the account and deleted their app.

    I booked last year on Agoda. After I saw some reviews, I cancelled my booking with them.

    Travelling is hard enough. Things like this make travelling even harder. We found ourselves dragging our luggage on streets in hot weather to find any decent hotels to stay. So dreadful!

    I had an Agoda booking in HCMC for March with payment at the hotel. Last week I started getting payment demands from several different SMS/Text addresses. All ignored and the booking cancelled.

    We use Airbnb App and have never had an issue. We are contacted by the host right after booking

    After booking with Agoda, the hotel will send a confirmation email within 24 hours. So it’s best to check if the hotel has sent a confirmation email and directly contact them if you didn’t get one after waiting 24 hours.

    I don’t understand why people don’t book directly with the hotel when most hotels offer price match or have prices the same as in booking platforms 🤷‍♂️

    ive used agoda for years no problems, i think you might have been unlucky due to new year im sorrry to hear that

    The same thing happened to me on New Year’s Eve in HCMC. They didn’t give me any compensation!
