Can anyone tell me why the pizza here is phenomenal????

Can anyone tell me why the pizza here is phenomenal???? It’s much better than anything we have in the U.S. I have my own pizza oven so I’m pretty picky about my pizza. The pepperoni/margarita/quatro formaggi at Herbal Garden is amazing. To me, pepperoni is just pepperoni. It’s nothing special. But the pepperoni in Vietnam is sooooo flavorful. I was completely shocked at how good it was. The basil on the Margarita pizza tasted like it was picked that morning. The Quattro formagi was just straight up delicious.

“The basil on the Margarita pizza tasted like it was picked that morning.” It probably was! It’s a Vietnamese thing to shop for groceries every day to keep the food on our plates always fresh. I wouldn’t be surprised if the basil was delivered by the farmer to the restaurant every morning.

We had a few pizzas around Vietnam and all but one were very good. My stepfather was Italian and owned pizza shops. My husband is Italian and he is third generation pizza maker. I am also a chef and we have owned 2 Italian restaurants, so that does qualify us to know good Italian food.

Being as Pizza is not an American dish it’s no surprise you can find good pizza in other countries.

I was watching a video in which an Italian guy was going around trying out different pizzerias in Vietnam, reviewed their pizzas and his verdict was that many of those pizzas would actually sell and be considered very good in Italy. Some of those restaurants are run by chefs who trained in Italy.

The food in the US is tasteless as products used in restaurants are not handpicked
