Just had a terrible experience near Hoan Kiem Lake. A guy offered to shine my shoes, and I politely said no, but he just grabbed my foot and started working. When he was done, he demanded an outrageous amount of money. I had to argue with him for 15 minutes. It was so aggressive. Just a heads up, be firm and walk away.

ust came back from a two-week solo trip and I had to share. I was so nervous at first, but Vietnam is an incredible place for solo travelers. I met so many amazing people, both locals and other travelers, and felt safe the entire time. To anyone on the fence, just do it! It's life-changing.
