Watch out for the bait and switch taxi drivers. They will take 500,000 and then switch it to 50,000 Dong (100,000 to 10,000)and say you still owe them money. It’s happened to me twice in Saigon. This was the one who got away with it. The second one didn’t work. Your best bet is to get a Grab from the app off your phone.

Transit from incoming international to domestic connection

I have an incoming international flight connecting to an onward domestic leg, all on one ticket with VN. Do I have to clear immigration and go landside for my connection, or is there a short cut that allows you to stay airside?

Travelling to Vietnam in 3 weeks.Would love all your advise. Yes I am scared about the world but more about airline fuel. Need to check must dos at this point . Ie visas. Coming from Australia to Da Nang , then Phu Quoc then Ho Chi Minhvietjet air have not upgraded yet but want to fast track , can I still now. Would live your help and advise.

Sleeper train information from Hanoi to DanangWe booked the whole cabin, you need to pay for 4 bedsWe used sleeping bag liners in the beds, bought prior to coming You get food and drinks in your cabinToilet and sink is ok, take wipes and tissues just incaseThe journey and scenery were amazing Better experience than flying Boarded the train at 1900hrs, arrived 1130am next dayTake extra snacksTake a few beers...

If we fly to Hanoi and want to do Sapa and Ha Long Bay, would it be better to book hotel in Hanoi ( stay a couple of nights ) travel to Ha Long Bay and leave our luggage at the hotel ( in Hanoi ), then come back from cruise and pick up luggage and then go to Sapa for thee nights before getting sleeper train to Da Nang – any help will be muchly appreciated
