First trip to Vietnam, staying 4 nights in Hanoi in November. I want to be walkable to everything but I've also heard the Old Quarter never sleeps, literally. Is there a sweet spot? Close enough to wander to Hoan Kiem lake but quiet enough to actually sleep? Or should I just accept the noise as part of the experience? Budget is mid range, around 40 to 60 dollars a night.
