Finally tried bun cha in Hanoi and I get the hype now

I will admit I did not understand what the fuss was about until today. We skipped the famous one with the Obama photos because the queue was around the block, and a Grab driver pointed us to a tiny place two streets over where everyone was sitting on those little plastic stools.

The pork patties straight off the charcoal, the broth with the green papaya, and the nem cua be on the side. I sat there thinking this costs less than a coffee back home. My partner does not even like pork that much and she ordered a second bowl.

So yeah, converts. If you are on the fence about the bun cha pilgrimage, just go, but maybe ask a local where they eat instead of following the tour buses.
