Landing in Hanoi next week and everyone says just use Grab for everything. Quick question though: when I book a ride, do I pay cash to the driver or does it charge my card in the app? I linked my card but I am not sure it actually works with a foreign bank. And is one way preferred? I do not want to be the tourist holding up the driver...

Quick one. I know not to drink the tap water, that part is clear. But what about brushing your teeth? Do most travelers use bottled water for that too, or is tap fine for a quick brush and spit? Asking because I will be moving around a lot and do not want to burn through a bottle every morning if I do not have to.

Sorry if this is a silly question but I am getting opposite answers everywhere. Some blogs say tipping is not a thing in Vietnam at all, other people say you should tip your tour guide and driver. Which is it? Like in restaurants, if there is already a service charge on the bill do I still leave something? And what about Grab drivers, the app asks for a tip sometimes....
