Sleeper bus Hanoi to Sapa, which company is the least scary?

Three of us are going from Hanoi to Sapa next week and trying to decide between the night sleeper bus and the train. The train sounds nicer but the timing of the buses works better for our plans.

Honestly my main worry is the driving. I have read some horror stories about mountain roads at 3am. Are there companies people actually trust for this route, or is it all a lottery? We are looking at the VIP cabin buses where you get your own little pod thing.

Also practical stuff: do these buses make toilet stops, and do they actually drop you in Sapa town or somewhere random outside it? Any company names you would book again would be great.
