I would do both especially breakfast at home. Also it could be fun trying new recipes or if you need or want a break from Vietnamese food. Go to milk supermarket they have a great range bit more expensive, their bakery section is fantastic.
Very very cheap to eat out
If your worried about food cost in Vietnam you may be getting turned back at border .. Not be rude but honest traveling with to small a budget is a bad idea medical even dental can put you into a world of problems quick
