Well here is a good one ! My friend flying from the Philippines and he is from Canada was refused at the gate for boarding. This was due to a problem with a simple “0/ zero and a O” on the visa. He was not the only one another Canadian was also refused because of the same problem and he has been trying for many days Another problem he had was that his process was not the same as mine. He never received the email confirmation for his application but got the payment email. Then he finally got into the site and his Visa was approved but the zero and O was correct Vietnam for him is a no go forever !Vietnam must straighten out their procedures to ensure it works for everyone. I will now be travelling alone and all his bookings are lost. Vietnam this is very disappointing and I know some of you are going to say you have been coming here for years without any problems “O no or is it 0 no 🙄

Professional advice for future travelers:
Canadian here, same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago my passport ended in the letter O but the visa we put the number 0.
I failed a few times paying the $25 fee with 3 of my credit cards and bank cards and my cards worked every where, and you need to start over again every time it failed and it’s stupid. You need keep in mind Vietnam is still a socialist country and it’s not even close compared to Thailand in all aspects except cheaper, the tourists are more cheap Charlie and backpackers.
Seems to of happened to a few people with the 0 instead of o must be a clerical error on the vietnamese visa site
Wait if he was refused it’s not always the airlines country but people working on behalf of the airlines like Singapore or Australia or other countries. We were in Singapore once and we had to buy my mother a return ticket to Singapore from Vietnam or they wouldn’t let her board. Either way that’s bad. Not good.
So those people refusing at the gate are Vietnamese?
I was attempting to apply on their website and when I input my details my last name shows up as WHERE. Will not accept my last name no matter what. I can change it to any other word I want and it shows the change. But if I input my last name it reverts back to WHERE.
This happened to me and they let us through. Literally the same thing. Entered twice a few weeks ago
What can Vietnam do to make people distinguish between a zero and the letter “O”? They’re not close to each other on the keyboard.
It truly is an awful process and they need to fix it.  I just submitted mine and it took me about six hours of constant mistakes and then you have to start at the beginning. The first time it was problems with two factor authentication in the payment process. The problem is it doesn’t give you enough time to complete it and it sends it off before you’re done and then, of course you get another payment failure and have to start all over again And the granularity and depth of questions is completely unnecessary.  And don’t get me started on the number of times I had to repeat the Captcha code process!  I hope I got it right!
