Visa free for Indians? Visa free transit countries? – Phu Quoc Island Forum

Hello!

I tried to find this information but the posts were around 8 years old.

So we are a group travelling from different cities of India and have hopping flights from different countries.

I understand that PHU QUOC is visa free. But if the transit country is Malaysia, Singapore, or Thailand OR Hanoi in Vietnam, then do we need visa of these countries?

Please help . THANKS

I am an Indian citizen and wish to enter Phu Quoc via Bangkok.( will stay at Bangkok for 2 days). Again from Phu Quoc I will return India via Bangkok. Do I need Visa for this if I visit only Phu Quoc through Bangkok

“Shall I need Visa then to enter Phu Quoc?”

If you are only visiting Phu Quoc, and not entering Vietnam’s mainland, then you don’t need a visa.

Yes its visa free and you don’t need transit visa from Malaysia Singapore or hanoi.

You just can’t come out of the airport or even go into the departure gate You have to transit area.

I confirmed this after a lot of searches and then confirming with travel agents and Vietnam and also others who have visited there. recently.

Also spoke to travel agents who have confirmed that they have sent their clients to Phu Quoc after the Visa free expection for Indians without any problems you will find lot of Indian tourists there. Also the Vietnamese visa is easy to get and very cheap.

If you want to visit other places like Danang which is I feel more like old goa or Bali vibe. While Phuqoc is like a Dubai vibe with good beaches.

Nikita, its certainly best to get your visa in India before you leave if you are needing to transit through Vietnam. Its very high risk to try and enter the country through immigration with no visa in hand. When i tried this recently, i was understandably asked to show my visa as you have to enter the country through international immigration to be able to then transfer by bus to the domestic terminal. You can try and talk your way around it like some might suggest but dont take the risk if you want a smooth holiday. Have fun
