So I’m finding both Google and Tripadviser are not reliable anymore. Primarily directing hoard’s of people to below average restaurants that serve pizza, burgers and fries or average restaurants are almost demanding that patrons give 5 star reviews. So with this in mind what other more reliable platforms are travellers using?

Those platforms will increasingly react to funded advertising. Word of mouth has always worked, as has personal exploration.
Facebook sites are so much better. People can share their lived experiences. I tried that when I first arrived in Vietnam, so much false or outdated info from google.

The ‘walking’ around platform, go explore and find a place.
I use my feet Iwalk around until I find somewhere that is full of locals – I eat there
