So I’m finding both Google and Tripadviser are not reliable anymore. Primarily directing hoard’s of people to below average restaurants that serve pizza, burgers and fries or average restaurants are almost demanding that patrons give 5 star reviews. So with this in mind what other more reliable platforms are travellers using?

Eat local. If there’s primarily locals there, go for it, if its full of foreigners dont.
Forget TripAdvisor and Google. Use FB groups 😉
In Hanoi we tried a place that had great reviews. The servers were so aggressive while we were eating. One tried to grab my friends phone saying I’ll help you. She was informed the review would be given when we wanted to. Next the lady showed up with a box with a scarf in it. My friend took the scarf 🤣 and wrote a bad review about how aggressive they were.
I use platform shoes
I never found any food places asking you to give good reviews, but found plenty of good places by just walking in.
These platforms recommend restaurants based on what the people who use them and write reviews think. Clearly overseas tourists are not the best people to take dining advice from.
We walk around and see where locals are eating. We also ask the hotel staff, Grab drivers and private drivers for recommendations.
I go out and walk, and when I see lots of locals, then that’s where I go.
