OMG I didn’t know we had to apply for an e-visa to go to Vietnam. I thought it would be the same as Bali where you just get a visa on arrival, but it turns out you need the visa before boarding the flight. My flight from Sydney is on Friday 13/03 and I only applied yesterday for four separate visas. I got a bit nervous thinking what if they don’t approve them before the 13th.PS: Of course I googled this when I first started planning the trip, but somehow my brain interpreted it as visa on arrival, so I believed that was the case. Also PS: For people who commented useless judging comments on this post — please bite your tongue and mind your own business if you don’t have anything helpful to say. The world is getting tired of people who just sit and judge. And thank you to the people who gave useful suggestions. I contacted an agency and everything is sorted out now.

Not sure if it is still this way but back in The day you could get your visa in da nang. It is ungodly expensive i think we had one person who paid like $200 dollars us. Basicly an idiot tax. We speak Vietnamese though so I’m not sure if that helped.
In this guys defense you don’t need a visa for all parts of Vietnam. Check out phu quoc visa requirements. If you fly directly there no need for a visa just a passport and a later flight out of country.
Lee Smith you should not need an urgent Visa under normal circumstances – you can apply for you evisa up to 12 months in advance – given that most people won’t plan their holidays that far in advance – but there should still be plenty of time to research what is needed and apply!!
Very stict
Regarding your “PS”: in future, when booking an international trip for four people, be sure to make sure every box is ticked. Going off what your “brain interpreted” rather than following instructions that are clearly listed even in a quick google skim is not wise, as you have discovered, and that is why people are responding to your problem so dismissively.
I applied for multi entry recently it took about 4 business days
Our visas took 4 working days to be issued. Hope you’ll be lucky too!
My husband and I went to Hawaii 13 years ago we were very young at the time. We weren’t informed we needed a visa we got to the airport I was in tears and they did an express one then and there and everything was fine I think we had to pay like $20 each or something from memory for them to apply for it for us.
You don’t need a visa if you’re from the UK as long as you’re not staying for over 45 days 🙌
We used Emergency Vietnam Visa – Joey Visa Vietnam in October last year, and their service was fantastic. They actually did a same day turnaround for us. Great communication throughout. I can’t recall exactly what it cost us, but I remember thinking it was very reasonable 🙂
