OMG I didn’t know we had to apply for an e-visa to go to Vietnam.

OMG I didn’t know we had to apply for an e-visa to go to Vietnam. I thought it would be the same as Bali where you just get a visa on arrival, but it turns out you need the visa before boarding the flight. My flight from Sydney is on Friday 13/03 and I only applied yesterday for four separate visas. I got a bit nervous thinking what if they don’t approve them before the 13th.PS: Of course I googled this when I first started planning the trip, but somehow my brain interpreted it as visa on arrival, so I believed that was the case. Also PS: For people who commented useless judging comments on this post — please bite your tongue and mind your own business if you don’t have anything helpful to say. The world is getting tired of people who just sit and judge. And thank you to the people who gave useful suggestions. I contacted an agency and everything is sorted out now.

You are not getting the Visa in time without an agent. Via Official website it takes 3 to 5 working days. Emily visa or Joey visa services might be the way to try. Without a valid Visa you are not allowed to board to the plane.

Also remember the only visa that is valid is the one you end up entering the country with and exit date is the one stamped in passport. If you end up getting the other visas after you enter the country don’t make the same mistake others have and think you can swap to those visas for a different exit date.

Can’t believe how mean people are being! Sorry you had to deal with this last minute stress – I’m glad you realised while you still had time to fix it ❤️ Travel takes a lot of organising and it’s easy to miss something. I use a big spreadsheet now so I don’t forget anything!

My daughter did the same thing and ended up paying $495 at Sydney airport before they would let her on the flight. I’d say use an agent like the ones recommended here Emily Visa or Joey Visa are mentioned a lot
