Looking for tips for a great hotel in Hanoi. I’ve been told that many on Booking.com are not like their ads, and having been scammed by 2 hotels in Egypt I’m a bit nervous. Hoping for genuine recommendations. I’d like to be near to old quarter, happy to walk up to about a mile. Just want it to be a lovely place to stay with things to do and quiet sleeping. A pool and a balcony would be a bonus but not a deal breaker! Mainly I want it to be friendly, not “service”y. I like real people, and Vietnamese food, not being treated like a posh person!

We stayed 9 nights in Hanoi E Central Hotel and it was in a great location. Clean and tidy rooms, great staff and yummy breakfast – but no pool or balcony.
We have stayed at nostalgia hotel and spa highly recommend
We loved Anatole hotel. Just up the road from the big church and in the old quarter. Central spot, beautiful rooms, good breakfast. Was only $250 per night. Rooftop pool was lovely and good for our kids.
We stayed in a airbnb apartment, 2 bed, above a SPA massage place in old quarter, was so wonderful sitting on balcony. I’ll miss this.
Hi all. Has anyone used the company jettzy to book internal flights?? I booked some and can’t log in or get in touch with them so getting worried. Thanks for your help.
We stayed at Le Premier Hotel & Rooftop Bar – close to the lake, old town, French quarter – highly recommended
We stayed at the San Grand and the Tirant. They are close to each other. Both in great position, quiet, good breakfast and lovely friendly staff. These were booked for us by a local travel company so they knew where to book.
La Mejor Indochine Hotel & Le Chanvre Hotel Hanoi
