    How crap are these booking platforms? They clearly have security leaks and don’t seem bothered to do anything about it either. Part of the reason I book direct with the Hotel most of the time.

    I received the same scam whatsapp message from me booking via Marriott app. Must be something these scammers have figured out.

    I had the exact same thing with a scammer, for this hotel too, just a few days ago!

    I just had a WhatsApp message for our Sapa accommodation, from an indian number, asking to verify my booking via a link within 24 hours otherwise it will be cancelled .

    Its crazy so many people get that on booking. I use trip because it connects directly to alipay and ive never once had it happen.

    I’m not a fan of Booking either. Last year we got ripped off by someone changing the price, adding a transaction fee, making us pay a deposit and then taking it from us. No way for us to dispute via the Booking,com platform.

    “Booking is working diligently to solve the issue”. Haha. BS. This has been going on for at least 2 years and Booking hasn’t made any headway.
