It’s a very safe place. You will be pleasantly surprised! Only issue I had late at night was some stray dogs

Always be cautious when traveling alone at night anywhere in the world. Just dress safely, keep your handbag tight to your body, and carry pepper spray or an alarm sound device just in case. I would set up an emergency police # for that country. Try not to overthink and just enjoy your trip.
It’s safe on the main road. But avoid the small streets. My friends in Vietnam said that some tourists are targeted and kidnapped by Chinese criminals. These Chinese criminals will take the victims to Cambodian and have you work in a building full of others victims that are forced to do a voice phishing scam to steal money from overseas.
