Hi just wondering if anyone facing same issue – due to fly back to UK with Emirates via Dubai and currently it’s a 2.5hr layover.UK Foreign Office is advising against transiting via Dubai Emirates are offering full refund on flight but Insurance company are saying that unless airline actually cancels flight, we are not covered for any extra costs: flights are a fortune and extra accommodation would be required too.Am struggling to understand how we would not be covered by insurance if we are following strict Foreign office advice and costs are incurred due to avoiding a war zone!

Tak a look at insurance c9ntract.
This is definitely something of concern for me too. Airlines who decide to fly passengers in zones where travel insurance is void due to risk, should really be called upon to provide cover as part of the ticket price.
My friends had to pay the extra cost to get home
Wait on airline they will cancel or reroute potentially
Our insurance company said we are covered as long as we don’t leave the airport as we are classed as transiting . If we had to leave for an emergency then they would look it at on a case by case basis.
If FCDO put on government websites say it’s not safe to travel insurance have to pay out
