   We had stat Dec copies made of all our important documents eg. Passports, bank cards, ID etc, just in case we lose anything.

   Sounds like you are very organised. Decide what you will do for money. Change $50 Aus before you go, just to get you going, then change the rest as you go . If taking cash, take crisp clean $100 notes , otherwise advise your bank you are going overseas and use a card. We take cash and have got a WISE card.
