Hi All, We are due to travel to Vietnam via Bangkok on monday, we are supposed to be staying in various locations for 3 weeks. My partner is worried about the fuel crisis caused by the current conflicts. Has anyone seen any signs of it affecting day to day life? My partner wants to cancel the holiday but I think its an over reaction. Could I please have peoples opinions. Thanks

My response would be same as yours, but your partner’s concerns are valid. No one can predict what’s going to happen in Iran – if it’s life as usual in Vietnam today, that doesn’t mean it’s going to remain unaffected throughout your 3 weeks. For us in Australia there’s a real possibility of rations on petrol in coming days and running out altogether in around 2-3 weeks. Airline fuel supplies may well be affected, so might be an idea for you guys to discuss contingency plans if during your stay planes were to stop running on schedule or at all (for example). Probably won’t happen but it’s far from impossible.
