Hey everyone, Is Grab a reliable service to use for transport when in Vietnam?

Hey everyone,Is Grab a reliable service to use for transport when in Vietnam? I was just doing some research and saw that getting the Grab app is best but to only book through that app that way everything is legit. I would assume people are saying that because you can also just use them in person or will the costs be way more than the app if you go that route?

Yes. Only place we could not get a grab was Ha Tien…otherwise it was fab.

Use the app, Grab is great. There are people claiming to be Grab that aren’t too honest. I speak from experience.

We linked to Revolut and used for 16 days… Absolutely excellent… find pick up locations that are easy for them to find e.g. a shop or hotel or minor landmark would be the main tip

Grab works like Uber. You’re getting private citizens to drive you in their car ( or on their scooter if you’re into that ).

You attach your credit card and it pays the driver automatically after the ride. There is an option to add a tip if you want to. It’s an excellent app, the only issue I have is there seems to be no way of working out how long a ride will take before booking it, so you have to use Google Maps for that.

You have to boom through the app to get a Grab car at the published prices. Anything else is just taking a taxi & negotiating the prices. It works very much like Uber and no cash is needed.
