Hello, supposed to be flying to Hanoi via Doha on 21st March from Edinburgh.. Trying to stay optimistic that it will go ahead but this is getting and more and more unlikely, I really don’t want to cancel, like a lot of you in the same boat there’s so much planning went unto this holiday.. Is it best just waiting it out or should I look to cancel to get alternative flights?

We fly the 24th also just a waiting game at the moment. We’ve been told to contact go to gate on the 19th to see what status the flight is. Then we ll take it from there.
We are meant to be flying to Bangkok via Dubai with Emirates, checked other routes with multiple airlines, prices are 2 to 3 times what we paid.
Try flying Singapore Airlines. They are still flying from Manchester
I’m meant to be flying on Friday and I’m so fed up I don’t even want to go now.
We’re meant to fly on the 2nd April by Doha with Quatar but have no idea what to do atm.
Mines 18th. Cheapest alternative is via China airways/Air India combination for £1100 pp. Everything else is in excess of 1600 pp
Same here.. departure on 5th of April Bxl – Abu Dhabi – Hanoi. Booked domestic flights, hotels and a driver. We hope to fly, still 4 weeks to go..
I think people are worried about not getting refunds for the “saver” type tickets as under “normal” circs they wouldn’t be refundable. But as I understand it, if the airline cancels or says you can apply for a refund on your date, you will still get it regardless of ticket type. I hope that’s right anyway. This is what happened during Covid
Im also on the same boat, flying out on March 29, I haven’t received anything from Qatar air but doesn’t seem the war is getting any better and I don’t feel happy flying over middle east anytime soon.
So difficult, I’m not sure if the fact that there has been a partial lift on Qatari airspace and some relief flights put on in the last 72 hours is making me try to stay positive or if I’m just being delusional 🙈
