Hello, supposed to be flying to Hanoi via Doha on 21st March from Edinburgh.. Trying to stay optimistic that it will go ahead but this is getting and more and more unlikely, I really don’t want to cancel, like a lot of you in the same boat there’s so much planning went unto this holiday.. Is it best just waiting it out or should I look to cancel to get alternative flights?

I doubt there is an airline on the planet that would risk going anywhere near the fireworks. They will make safe arrangements and let you know.
Got my long awaited holiday to Vietnam cancelled last week will get next year flight money has been paid back already emirates have been great
Hi! We are on the same flight as you and also trying to stay optimistic! We were told by our travel agent to wait until the week before to contact them as hopefully they will know more by then. We’re hoping that they will cancel our flight and we can re book with another airline…. 🤞🏼
Only you can make that decision. No one has a crystal ball of how the mess in the Middle East will evolve. Personally I’d look at other options with other airlines which don’t have their hub airports there (Singapore, Hong Kong, or fly direct with Vietnam air). Most likely will cost a bit more, but not too many options right now unfortunately.
Cancel flight now using Manage Booking. They will give full refund.
I was due to fly Newcastle – Dubai – Hanoi on 29th March with Emirates. Flying back from Bangkok- Dubai – Newcastle on 23rd April. Cancelled our flights and rebooked via another route as didn’t want to risk it.
We are due to fly Qatar Airways Da Nang – KL – Doha – Heathrow next Mon. We have NO IDEA what will happen and may end up standed in Malaysia (ffs)!! It’s spoiling our holiday.
In the same boat or is that airplane. Going 20th April. Best to wait until airline cancel flight then you can get full refund.
We’re in the same boat , due to fly 2nd April from Newcastle. Got in touch with travel agent, who said we have to wait for Emirates to cancel flight. Before we can rebook flights. Every day the prices are going up. Waiting game till then. Been planning our trip since last June.
I had a flight via Dubai with Emirates to Hong Kong, catching a cruise to Vietnam. I cancelled on line last Monday , flight was for 21 March, was not cancelled. Today I received an email from Emirates Airlines telling me I have been fully refunded, no penalty, I even paid an extra £200 to change departure day and that has been refunded.
