Grab App?I just downloaded the Grab app and tried to start using it as a trial. I am not yet in Vietnam. It looks like it makes you choose a city that you are in. Obviously, there are lots of cities that are not listed. Once you are in Vietnam, does it use your location to give you more options? We are planning to use it in areas that were not large cities as well (especially on Phu Quoc).

I didn’t enter cc details and only use cash. Apparently there can be extra charges on your card I have read
How can you use it if your not in Vietnam?
We’ve been using it for the first time whilst here in Vietnam. We didn’t link any cards to it and we have just paid cash. It uses your actual location whilst you are here x
Is google broken?
I am from Montreal and was worried about the app b 4 leaving , especially since never used this type of app b 4 but everything worked fine once I was in Vietnam. It’s easy and efficient!

Grab won’t work in Alberta. Connect your credit card so you don’t need cash. When you land in Vietnam, open grab and you will get rides. It’s easy. Pick the right type of car. Regular cars are small. 6+ is like a Ford Escape (seating for 4 plus space for suitcases).
Don’t do what I did and gad the microphone and sound turned off ..sometimes they call you which isn’t very helpful when I don’t speak Vietnemese…HOWEVER someone will always help you…the Vietnemese way
