Currently in Hanoi. Shortly after landing my throat started burning and I now have an annoying cough and runny nose. Day 2 we went out to Halong overnight and it improved slightly. Trying to work out if I have a virus or if it’s the horrible pollution. Had no issues rest of Vietnam (we’re doing South to north). I should probably just go to a pharmacist and ask? Don’t especially like to take me germs in to them, if they are germs. I bought masks last night but they’re far too small so can’t wear that either.

I picked up something there and the air contributed to that. Had to use Abx for 7 days, which cleared some of it, but it cleared even moreso when I left. The pollution is horrid.

More than likely the air quality. I had the same issue. This is the worst time of year for it. Tiger balm and antibiotics helped me.

It’s air pollution. I had same issue. Just use mask should be okay.

Landed in Hanoi yesterday and I noticed the same thing. I’m almost certain it’s the air pollution.

Pollution. Every time I head to hcmc and or Hanoi from DaLat for TET or see family or friends, it’s the cities unfortunately. That and feeling dirty even after a shower. Unfortunately. I’m no doctor but it’s common for Tay here when they arrive in Vietnam.

It’s the poor air quality. Had the same last year in Cambodia. Made me very sick. Go to doctor and get a puffer and nose sprays

We landed in hanoi and the pollution was the highest in the world. We moved down to ninh binh and it still wasn’t good. I ended up with a sinus infection from the air, so we switched our plans and flew to da nang. The air is MUCH better and my sinus infection cleared up quickly.

This is Hanoi’s air today. Also, normal medical masks won’t work you need to get one with air pollution filter similar or same as N95. You can get them from AryMask i think Chicks n Bikes usually stock their brand

I started to cough on descent into the smog in Bangkok. I coughed for two weeks. I ultimately decided it was an allergic reaction to the smog. It is considerably better now in the much cleaner air in Hue, Vietnam.
