I normally stay out at An Bàng when I’m down in Hoi An, but La Siesta is the one I book when I want to be near the Old Town instead, and it’s where I’ve put visiting friends more than once.
So I’ve been in and out of it a fair bit over the last few years, in both wings, which is why I thought I’d write my own La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa review instead of leaving you to the booking sites.
It’s rated 4.8 from something like 5,600 Google reviews and TripAdvisor made it number one in Vietnam and number six in the world for 2026, so nobody needs me to tell them it’s good.
What I’ve found harder to get from the reviews is the ordinary stuff. Which wing to book, how long the walk into town actually takes, what the road outside is like, whether the shuttle is any use to you.
That’s what this is. The good bits, the bits I’d flag, and what I’d book with my own money.
- Quick Answer: La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa is a 5 star resort at 132 Hùng Vương, around 800m from the Old Town, rated 4.8 from over 5,600 Google reviews and ranked first in Vietnam by TripAdvisor for 2026. The good is the staff, the four pools, breakfast and the spa, and the value for a 5 star. Rooms start around 1.8 million VND, roughly $70.
- What I liked:
- The staff. Guest relations hosts are named individually all over the La Siesta Hoi An reviews, and that side of it is as good as people say.
- Four pools, including a 400m² saltwater one on the Club Wing side and an adults-only infinity pool looking over the rice fields.
- Breakfast across two restaurants, Red Bean for Asian and The Temple for European.
- La Spa, which is good and cheap compared with what the same treatment costs at home.
- The free bikes, which are new and well kept, and more useful here than the shuttle.
- What I’d flag:
- The shuttle bus goes about three times a day on set timings, so it may or may not suit your plans.
- Hùng Vương is an ordinary road. Karaoke across the way some evenings, patchy pavement, and not much to look at.
- It’s a twelve to fifteen minute walk to the Old Town, or five minutes on a bike. Some reviews say five minutes walking, which isn’t quite right.
- Mosquitoes in the gardens and on the balconies in the evening.
- No proper kids’ club, and beyond the pools, spa, gyms and bikes there isn’t a lot on site.
- Club Wing or Classic Wing, which is the real decision:
- Classic Wing: 70 rooms, modern Asian style, freshwater pool. Cheaper, and some rooms have two doubles, so it’s the family one.
- Club Wing: 67 suites, colonial style with dark teak and old floor tiles, saltwater pool. Free alcoholic drinks, free laundry, à la carte breakfast on top of the buffet, late check-out to 2pm when available.
- Practical:
- Address: 132 Hùng Vương, Hội An Tây. Da Nang airport is about 28km.
- Free shuttle to both the Old Town and An Bang Beach, and guests can use the resort’s Shore Club at the beach.
- Rooms from around 1.8 million VND. Suites a fair bit more.
- A taxi into the Old Town is 30,000 to 40,000 VND.
The Good: What La Siesta Hoi An Resort Gets Right
The staff
This is the thing, and it’s the reason the ratings look the way they do. The guest relations team check in with you most days to see if you need anything sorted, which I found useful and which I can imagine a few people finding slightly much.
Either way, it’s not something a resort of this size can put on for the cameras.
The pools
There are four. The big saltwater one on the Club Wing side is around 400m² and sits between about 1.4 and 1.8 metres deep, there’s a 200m² adults-only infinity pool looking out over the rice fields, a smaller freshwater one by the Classic Wing, and a shallow kids’ pool.
The practical effect is that you can nearly always find one that’s quiet, which isn’t true of most hotels in Hoi An.
Breakfast
Two restaurants, Red Bean doing Asian and The Temple doing European, and both run long enough that you’re not rushing. Club Wing guests can order à la carte as well as take the buffet, which I’d take over queueing at a hot plate.
La Spa
The La Siesta Hoi An spa is good, and cheap by international standards, which is why so many reviews say some version of “all four of us had treatments for the price of one massage at home”.
It’s dearer than a spa in town though, so if all you want is an hour on a table there are cheaper options in my Hoi An massage guide.
The value
Four pools, two restaurants, this level of service, starting around $70. That’s the bit I keep coming back to, and it’s why I’ve sent people here.
What the La Siesta Hoi An Reviews Leave Out
None of these would stop me booking again. They’re just what I’d want to know beforehand.
The shuttle
La Siesta runs a free shuttle to the Old Town and to An Bang Beach, but it goes about three times a day on set departures, roughly between 9am and half four.
It’s a scheduled bus, not a car on call, and if your plans don’t line up with the times you’ll be getting a taxi. That’s only 30,000 to 40,000 VND each way, so it’s a small thing, just budget for a few of them.
The road outside
Hùng Vương is an ordinary Vietnamese street and the resort is a walled garden dropped onto it. Some evenings there’s karaoke going across the road, the pavement comes and goes, and it isn’t scenic.
That’s normal for this part of town and none of it reaches you inside, but it’s worth knowing if you were picturing stepping out of the gate into something pretty.
The walk into town
You’ll see reviews claiming five minutes and reviews claiming twenty. It’s 800 metres to a kilometre depending which end of the Old Town you’re aiming for, so twelve to fifteen minutes on foot and about five on a bike. The bikes are really the answer here.
Mosquitoes
In the gardens and on the balconies in the evening. Not unusual for Hoi An, but the grounds are green and there’s water everywhere, so bring repellent.
Not a lot to do on site
Pools, two gyms, the spa, the bikes, and a daily craft activity that runs under an hour and is usually lantern making. There’s no kids’ club and no playground the way the big beach resorts have.
For a couple that’s fine. For a family planning three days without leaving, maybe less so.
Club Wing or Classic Wing at La Siesta Hoi An Resort
This is the decision that changes your stay most, and it’s the one nobody really explains before you book, mostly because reviewers rarely say which wing they were in.

For two nights the Classic Wing is perfectly good and it’s most of the reason people call this place good value. Some of those rooms have two double beds and a balcony, which makes them the sensible family pick.
For longer I’d pay up for the Club Wing. The free drinks and the laundry alone claw back a decent chunk of the difference over four or five nights, and the suites are the rooms people write paragraphs about.
The Veranda Suites have deep wooden tubs and a sauna in the room, the Premium Terrace Suites have a hot tub outside, the Executive Suites look over the infinity pool towards the rice fields, and the Duplex Suite Balcony is split over two floors with a clawfoot bath downstairs and a second bedroom up a wooden staircase. That last one sleeps four and it’s the one I’d book if I were sharing with another couple.
La Siesta Hoi An Location: How Far Is It to the Old Town?
800 metres to a kilometre, depending which corner you’re heading for.
On foot that’s twelve to fifteen minutes along Hùng Vương, past shops and cafés, and it’s an unremarkable walk in both directions.
On a bike it’s about five, and since the bikes are free and new that’s what I’d use most of the time. A Grab or taxi is a couple of minutes and 30,000 to 40,000 VND.
The bit to plan for is coming back late. The shuttle stops mid-afternoon, so if you’re out for dinner you’re walking or getting a car. Neither is a hardship, but if a fifteen minute walk at eleven at night doesn’t appeal, factor in the taxi. What’s actually still open at that hour is in my Hoi An at night guide.
Prices and What’s Included
Entry level rooms start around 1,800,000 VND, roughly $70, and the same room often sits nearer $90 to $110 depending on season and how far ahead you book. Suites go up from there.
Breakfast is included in both wings, along with the bikes, the shuttle, wifi, water refilled daily, and the pools and gyms.
The Club Wing adds the drinks, the laundry and the à la carte breakfast. February to May is the expensive stretch, and the softest rates tend to be from late October into December when the weather turns.
The Beach Side of It
La Siesta isn’t a beachfront hotel, but the shuttle runs out to An Bang and guests get the use of the resort’s Shore Club there, with loungers, a bar and a pool.
It’s about fifteen minutes in the shuttle, or five kilometres on the bike, which is a flat and pleasant ride through the paddies.
That works well if the beach is a day out for you. If the beach is the whole point of the trip, I’d book on the sand and come into town for dinner instead, and I’ve gone through those in the Hoi An beachfront hotels post.

Who La Siesta Hoi An Suits, and Who It Doesn’t
Couples staying three nights or more are the sweet spot here, ideally in a Club Wing suite. So is anyone who wants 5 star at a price that isn’t quite 5 star money, which is most of why the reviews look the way they do.
Families work with a caveat. Kids’ pool, connecting rooms in the Classic Wing, cribs, babysitting for a fee. But no kids’ club and no playground, so if your children need something organised laid on, this isn’t that sort of resort.
It’s less of a fit if you want to walk out of the lobby straight into the Old Town, or if you want the beach on your doorstep. Both exist in Hoi An, and this is neither.

What I’d Actually Do
Book it, and book the Club Wing if you’re staying four nights or more.
When you check in, ask for a room on the garden side away from the road, and get the shuttle times written down on day one so you can plan around them. Use the bikes for going into town, because waiting for the bus eats a chunk of the morning.
The one thing I’d think about before booking at all is the trade you’re making, which is a fifteen minute walk to dinner in exchange for four pools and a lot of green space.
I’m happy with that trade and I’d make it again, but if you know you’d rather be two minutes from a bowl of cao lầu, there are places in the Old Town that do that and this isn’t one of them.
