When putting money on your Wise card is it best to convert it to dong and what is the advantage?

When putting money on your Wise card is it best to convert it to dong and what is the advantage? Do I have to convert the full balance or can I convert part of it? I’m sorry I’m a little confused with it all.

Convert toDong when your currency is high, Dong will incur less fees than other currencies.

Convert what you think you need and draw from ATM. Try to draw maximum, 5000000dong. Some ATM only allow 2 million

I am using my wise card in Vietnam. Only issue is finding a bank that doesn’t charge you a large fee to withdraw cash. The highest fee I’ve paid is $15AUD but that wasnt the wise fee. Its easy to transfer between accounts and great using tap and go too.

You can have multiple currencies on your Wise card. Yes, have Dong in one of the accounts. You can transfer from one account, for example from the £’s account on your card. A word of warning! I travel a lot, to many different countries. Vietnam was the only country where I had problems with my Wise card. The majority of ATM’s rejected it! The one which didn’t was HSBC. I wasted so much time trying to find an ATM which would accept it, which caused big problems! Vietnam is a cash based country, so you need access to cash. The next time I go there I will definitely take a second card (most likely Revolut or Monza).
