Love the people food and customs. Was really surprised by all the trash along the streets in around Da Nang.
The lack of road rage in the chaotic traffic. You can’t explain it till you live it. Took 2 days to get a handle of the traffic and now im zipping around on a scooter like a local. Love it.
At times hard to differentiate scammers vs super friendly/helpful
The complete lack of anger towards foreign people after so many wars that foreign people caused in VN. Amazingly forgiving and welcoming. 😮
How often my new Vietnamese friends wanted to pay for my meals, coffees, and also getting my own Red Envelope during the Tet holidays. I literally had to push their card our of the way at the cashier bc it was just too often!

The kindness and friendliest of the Vietnamese people. Definitely the safety walking around Sài Gòn 24 hrs without feeling getting robbed or killed. I never feel the same in US and never wondered around ouside at night in the US, but after 2 years retired & lives here in Sài Gòn. I found peace and Calm. Financial stress is definitely gone. I don’t feel like people chasing for materialistic world here. They see life is enough. Happiness is definitely found inside of the heart here.❤️❤️❤️. America helped shape the man I became.
