We flew Delta in Dec from Chicago to Hanoi but it should fly to HCM as well. We had a good flight.
United. They fly to HCM with layover to Hong Kong from San Francisco or lax. So no need to change airlines.
I would honestly try my best to not use USA airlines. Many other airlines are much better.

I recommend flying to a coast city, like San Francisco or Seattle, for an overnight/weekend and then flying out to SGN from there. You often cut your dates in half by doing this stopover.
