We arrive at Ho Chi Minh Airport on Sunday, April 5. I read that the queue for customs can be up to 3 hours. Is it necessary to book on a fast line? If so, where is the best place to do so?

Its not that bad at all.We waited an hout
We were at that airport 4 times last week. Its very busy but the queues move. Most we waited was an hour to get through check in, immigration and security.
I flew in yesterday, from landing to leaving the airport took an hour, pretty normal for any airport
Check how many flights are landing at that time for a better picture to see how busy it is

Where and when can I make a reservation for the fast-track queue upon arrival at the airport?
The fast pass is $35 USD per person. In the last 3 weeks I flew into HCMC, then out of HCMC to Phnom Penh, then Da Nang to HCMC, back to Australia. Security and immigration was less than an hour.
We arrived yesterday afternoon. Putting aside (with great difficulty) that our fast track agent completely forgot about us despite communicating with the brand a week ago, I would say yes definitely if you are travelling in economy. Business class travellers would be one of the first in the eventual very long queues.
I stayed in the line for 2 hours because many comments said no need. I flew with VJ82 and landed at 6:05am . Now I change my mind I have booked fast pass for my departure family. You can refer to Hang Johnny Visa she was nice and fast reply
