We are meeting up with our son in Vietnam.

We are meeting up with our son in Vietnam. We are traveling from the UK on British passports and he is travelling from Australia also on a British passport. I believe we don’t need a visa for a 3 week stay, but just wondering about my son? I have done a quick search but getting different answers.

If you have a UK passport no visa required, doesn’t matter where you’re travelling from

Immigration worldwide rely on the passport, not where the passport holder is flying from and to : if I fly from Paris to Milan using my British pp then I am British, not French or Italian.

If you’re both travelling on the same passport, why would his situation be different to yours when the visa requirement is based on the passport of the traveller?

If hes doing his travels with a valid uk passport, with 6mths validity in entry to Vietnam and has 2 clear pages in his passport then he doesn’t require a visa…
