Looking to book a 2 to 3 week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia in 2026
Hobby is 71 and is reluctant to go on a self organised tour. His preference is for a completely organised tour. We recognise this will be more expensive but it means less worry about logistics. We’ve looked at Mercury Direct and have used them before to travel to Sri Lanka and were pleased on that occasion. Does anyone have any other travel companies that they could recommend thanks very much

We did an Indochina tour with Jules Verne a few years ago, the trip was fantastic, great guides and hotels, and the price was very competitive
The optional extras are usually around 25 or 30 US dollars per person. On some the guide goes with you.
eg this afternoon we are doing a rickshaw tour around Ho Chi Minh. The cost is $30 pp. The guide is coming with us. We are really enjoying the trip. The overnight train is uncomfortable but good fun.
Hi gallstuart, We did this tour in September 23 and the optional extras were just that. Our small group were offered extra tours or experiences at the different locations we travelled to we chose only to partake in a couple ( bike ride in Hoi an being a particular highlight for us) and an evening river cruise in Cambodia. We used our downtime to the maximum! Some of our group did loads of extras and some didn’t do any, we were never pressured to do anything! If you wanted to do anything not as the itenerary suggests the guide will happily arrange this for you! Enjoy!
Hi, I am starting to plan this trip for 2026 Trailfinders with G Adventures, Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand. Would be grateful to hear how your trip went. I’ve done a trip with them before to India and it was fantastic but everything seemed to be included on this trip. However, I notice with this trip there are a lot of optional extras and therefore unsure what the final cost would be and how many optional extras we can fit in to a day. Thank you.

Just got back from a tour with trpadeal.everything was fantastic and the tour guides amazing.had a group of 20.accommodation all very nice.highly recommended.
You can also do Vietnam only in 2 – 3 weeks.
What places do you plan to visit in Cambodia?
a short trip to both countries on a tour means that you will see very little and be very very rushed! DIY is so easy but I say one country for 2-3 weeks and Vietnam has much much more to offer. Don’t try to see everything in one trip – far better to limit your stops. I’m 81 and dislike many popular places like Nha Trang, Danang & Hoi An – better to see Hanoi, Quy Nhon, Ninh Binh & Dalat (just my 2 cents).
