Contact the Vietnam embassy in your country and explain. Call on phone best way.
No such thing as a visa on arrival – you need to apply for a 90 day tourist e-visa. British passport holders and a few other nationalities get 45 day visa-free entry – otherwise you require a visa.
Im filipina holding Norway Permanent Residence card . I travel around the world No need visa.
Try to get in touch with a Vietnamese embassy closest to you. I was in the same situation with a Vietnamese passport going to Spain. I was 17, living in the US with a green card and didn’t know I could only travel to Spain by first applying for a Vietnamese passport. It took forever to get the passport and Spain needed me to send my passport to their embassy to get the visa. I got in touch with the Spanish embassy and someone felt sorry enough for me to expedite my visa. The visa arrived the day before my flight. I called the person I was in contact with at the Spanish embassy crying and I was so grateful to her. People can be kind. Hopefully, you can make your trip.
I’m sorry so many people on here are unkind to you. If the savvy expedited services that you’ve already contacted cannot help you, no one on here can. It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to come to VN this time around and will have to take the losses. I hope you’ll be able to visit VN another time. In the meantime, I believe the Philippines is visa-free for Ghana passport holders if you’re able to change plans. Hong Kong is also a fun possibility. Good luck! 🍻

No visa on arrival
I hope you didn’t book a ticket. If a visa-agency can’t help than Forget it. The only thing is important is your pasport not where you live. Only option might be Phu Quoc. But get there, you need to book a direct return international flight , for example from Bangkok. (no stopover at the mainland of Vietnam). You are allowed to stay on the island for max 30 days (you can’t leave the island to visit the mainland )But even for this option you need to check transit regulations in Thailand as well before book any tickets. Ghana pasportholders are hard pasports to travel.
Yeh difficult country, maybe postpone
