Hello everyone.
We are planning to dedicate some time to Ho Chi Minh City this coming August before heading over to Cambodia. I have been considering a minimum stay of five nights in Vietnam: 2 or 3 nights in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 or 2 nights exploring the Mekong Delta. Are there any other destinations you would suggest, and do you feel that 2 or 3 full days in HCMC along with 1 or 2 days in the Mekong Delta is a sufficient amount of time?

OP, 03 nights in HCMC and 02 nights at Mekong Delta. Cu Chi tunnel not worth the road of 2 hours just to see it. Nothing fancy about the tunnel.

two nights in Mekong area mean 1 day and hall . Is it enough? How people are used to visit Mekong Delta ? I thought to stay in the same place for 2/3 nights and then visit the area but I am still reading about it . Have you toured by yourself ? Could you explain sonething more ?

If Phnom Penh is in your travel list, you can consider staying 1 night in Chau Doc for a next morning fast boat to Phnom Penh.
You can get to Chau Doc from Can Tho easily, by bus or private transfer.
