Transit from incoming international to domestic connection

I have an incoming international flight connecting to an onward domestic leg, all on one ticket with VN.

Do I have to clear immigration and go landside for my connection, or is there a short cut that allows you to stay airside?

    For others, please note:

The useful info at #5 from Bertie only applies if you are on a through Vietnam Airlines ticket.

If you have one ticket but incoming is eg Emirates and domestic is on Vietnam, you will have to collect luggage, transfer it to domestic terminal yourself, then check in on a long line!

    Not doing that again.

3 hours is kind of enough time to transit for a new flight. In case you are late, you may consider using fast track service, which costs around 35 USD each.

From the domestic to the international terminal, we do offer free shuttle bus.
