Planning a slow travel trip through Vietnam next January-March.

Planning a slow travel trip through Vietnam next January-March. Where would you recommend stays of 2-4 weeks and why? We like places that have numerous day trip options, good food scene, and decent infrastructure. We fly into Ho Chi Minh City and probably out of Hanoi. We will do a couple weeks in Siem Reap and Luang Prabang, but most of the time will be in Vietnam.

Ha Long Bay is a destination you shouldn’t miss. It’s one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, with excellent infrastructure and reliable services. I’m a local in Ha Long and I can assist you in many ways to ensure you have the most enjoyable trip. Please message me if you need any help.

We do DIY lazy travels in Vietnam since 2022. Most members here transport and tour operators who will give you quotations for their services, which is fine. But if you are leaning to more DIY, I’m willing to answer questions to help especially if it is your first time in Vietnam. I’m a fellow traveller from another country and I’m not Vietnamese.

If you are traveling to Ho Chi Minh City, you can also check out Delina Glasses. We provide eye exams and prescription glasses with a quick turnaround time. Our team speaks English and we’re happy to help travelers find the right lenses during their stay in Vietnam.

I spent 9 days in Hoi An during the Tet Holiday on my 7 week Vietnam trip. It was perfect for going to the beach, having some city life, day trips to Marble Mountain and was a great location. Then I have used Hanoi as home base for Northern Vietnam adventures, Cat Ba Island and Lan Ha Bay, Sapa, Ha Giang loop. Off to Nihn Bihn twice (it’s that gorgeous). Enjoy your travels!
