We are a group of five people hoping to reserve an entire six-berth hard sleeper cabin for the overnight journey from Da Nang to Hanoi.
What is the most effective way for us to book this?
We’ve attempted to reach Vietnam Railways, but they have not responded to any of our inquiries.

Thanks all.
Trying to book direct on the official website cannot be done online using an internationaol credit card issued outside of Vietnam! Very frustrating!
baolau.com does not let you book anything other than a 4 berth, and their online chat directed me to contact them via email. Similar situation experienced with 12Go.asia too.
Why is it so hard and difficult to book a cabin for 6 berth hard sleeper online?

How far out are you looking?
Lots of tickets don’t become available until a month or two out.

I have done it and so have some others. However, unfortunately it seems to be hit + miss; not sure why.
Which is why I asked have you actually tried?
Maybe the train on that route does not have a 6 berth sleeper. All the sleeper trains I have been on in Vietnam have been just four berth.
You might need to get a four berth for three of you and a two berth for two of you.
I booked more tickets than actually needed once with Baolau and it worked fine. I put my own name and passport number down twice. When the purchase went through one ticket appeared as my name followed by Junior!
I simply did not show both tickets when I went to get on the train.
(I did this for a short journey when I wanted to ensure I had a seat on a certain side of the train, so not too extravagant!).
I just did a dummy booking on Baolau for Hanoi to Danang. It would let me book a 6 berth. After you select the train it gives you a drop down on type of berth available, for the train I pocked it was sear, 4 berth or 6 berth. Once you selected one it took you to seating plan.
So. have you tried to book tickets on the official Vietnam Railways website?

And yes, when that hasn’t worked:I used baolau.com
They used another family member or friends name who is not traveling with them. But, you also may need their passport info.
Try Baolau.com
They’re an agent, but their commission is reasonable.

Thanks. I’m keen to understand if anyone else has done this, and how they went about it.

Sorry, just realised you were asking about booking out the whole cabin, and not just simply booking tickets.
It’s come up a few times on the forum, and from memory, it’s not an issue.
I just can’t remember how people went about filling in details to get all the available beds.
