Okay so I need to tell you about the biggest mistake I made in Hoi An.I booked a hotel right in the middle of Old Town. Thought I was being genius – “I’ll be close to all the attractions! It’ll be perfect!”The first night was… hell. Really. At 11 PM the Old Town doesn’t go to sleep, it wakes up. Karaoke, motorbikes, vendors shouting – it just doesn’t stop. I slept maybe 3 hours. The next day I moved to a hotel in an area called Cam Chau (10-minute walk from the center) and suddenly everything changed. Quiet, pool, rice fields around, and still close enough to walk to Hoi An when you want.I want to save you this experience 😅 so if you’re planning Hoi An, I wrote something here that breaks down all the different areas: https://www.mydailyjourneys.com/post/where-to-stay-in-hoi-anThanks for reading my rant 🙈

So, I was in Hoi An as well. I’m not sure what the attraction is there that isn’t so many other places. I’m sure others will tell me other than block after block after row and row of retail stores. No disrespect, just wondering why all the fuss over Hoi An.
Stay at Cozy An Boutique Hotel. Excellent, quiet, not expensive, wonderful staff and breakfast incl.
I’ve just booked our accommodation for March and booked on the beach 🏖️ in An bang just for that reason and will go in as and when 😊🙏🏻 Happy sleep enjoy 😊
I wear ear plugs every night and always have them with me when travelling, not any ear plugs but these ones that actually work
Perfect timing we are about to book accomodation there for next week thanks for sharing
Good tip. Excellent of you for sharing. I will FedEx you 5 hours of sleep. It should arrive at your new Hotel at 3:00am 😄
Where was the karaoke? I’ll make it better!
We are at Athenia boutique and its great. Beaches close by, quiet, shuttle bus into town or cheap taxi.
Haha the same by my first visit in Da Nang. Near to all tourist places. But a club some meters from the hotel. The Hotel was only on the Pictures Good.
Oh yeah, 🤦♂️ made that mistake.. its the same with the ‘old quater’ in Hanoi (anything north of Hoan Kiem Lake – which is super central) is party time after dark
