My next trip to Vietnam will be to get married to a Vietnamese.

My next trip to Vietnam will be to get married to a Vietnamese. Im from the USA and the process looks like maybe I need a lawyer to handle it so there ain’t no problems. Many things could go wrong and delay it . Ill be on a time limit so it would be hard to stay longer then I need to . Any recommendations on a firm that would handle this process? Looks like I can get most of it done at the Vietnam embassy in the USA before I go to Vietnam.

Just a heads up, I’ve heard that recently it’s very difficult to get a fiancé visa. It use to be an easy 6 month process but not anymore.

Get engaged there. Bring her to US on K1 fiance visa. Marry her & finish her paperwork.

Kurt Trudell, curious if you already have connected with your future spouse or if you’re planning to go visit and meet your spouse? Asking because I’m debating on this but don’t know how or where to meet a Vietnamese lady. With so many romance scams, I’m cautious about online, long distance dating.

Mate no you don’t need a lawyer, but if you’re not sure about the process come join Vietnam legal group, many of us long term married Tay and Viet legal people can help you with any info on the process of marriage.

It was much easier to get a fiancé visa and get married in the US. My fiancé visa took six months but a spouse visa was two years.
