I’m thinking of doing a visa run thru the Moc Bai border. I understand there is a public bus from HCM to Moc Bai but it takes 3 hours or so. How much would a taxi or other private transportation cost to the border and back? I would like to get back to HCM by late afternoon the same day. Has anyone done this visa run lately?

You need to mention that you have to leave Vietnam in order to get a new visa and this process can take a while depending on who you get to help you. You cannot apply for a new evisa for Vietnam while in Vietnam.

They won’t say that, Daniel.
There used to be a restriction on back to back visa exempt visits, but that’s no longer the case.
And hasn’t been for quite a while now.

Did you manage to exit Vietnam, enter Cambodia, and then re-enter Vietnam and get another 45-days of visa exemption all in the same day?
I’m from the UK, which is on the exemption list, but I’m worried in case they say that I’ve already used my one and only 45-days of visa exemption.

Great information on the border run. I need to go in a weeks time. Do you know if anything has changed since your last post. One youtube I watched said you can no longer get a visa on arrival. Thanks
How do you get the visa exemption? How do you get a tourist visa in a few hours?
Yes pretty simple. Can easily do it in a morning if you catch an early morning bus, mini van or private car.
