Medical assistance in Vietnam is exceptional. Coming from Australia, we are used to great medical access but Vietnam lifted the bar. My wife unfortunately got a bacterial lung infection after 2 months traveling. Walked into a medical clinic in HCM city and received first rate service. Within 2.5 hours she had been examined by nurses, seen the doctor, had a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia, had an influenza test, seen the doctor again, pharmacy completed and then an awesome nurse who guided her through the puffer and medicine use. In and out in this time with all of this is awesome. Yes there is a cost but very reasonable for the service.Vietnam, well done

It is great. Went to a doctor in Dalat because my throat was killing me. Did a throat scope and sInus scope. Diagnosed with tonsil infection and sinus infection. The visit plus 2 meds was $30 CDN.
My wife and I decided to visit a hospital in VN for our complete health checkup: bloodworks, ultra-sound, X-ray, EKG, AND a MRI in the head area. The whole thing cost me 280 usd. MRI alone cost 90 usd. We saw doctors who went through the results with us and were given the files to take home to give to our primary doctor at home. It was AMAZINGLY professional and CHEAP. The reason we did it was per an advice by our friend who did the same thing last year. She just had a physical check up with a clean bill of health from her own doctor but decided to go for a second checkup in VN. The tests there found cancerous sign in her throat area. She reported to her doctor at home and the doctor ordered the same test which was not included in the normal physical checkup here in the U.S. Well, they confirmed the cancer and immediately treated her. She is now cancer-free and is so thankful that she got it checked out during that vacation trip to Vietnam.

How is that different when you see doctor privately in Australia?
It’s crazy. You go to a doctor’s office and actually see a doctor. You don’t have to schedule 3-4 weeks in advance. They’re clear on pricing. You can ask a question on the phone without waiting two weeks for a $180 consultation. They give you records and explain things. There’s no f’ing terrible portal app.
My late husband had the same 1st class experience in Hoi An, with kidney stones. Exceptional!!!
That’s better than here in nsw.
That’s good news.
Just spent a week in the HCMC cancer hospital #2 having surgery for skin cancer. This is the State run hospital for all of Southern Vietnam. They serve over 1000 people 5 days a week. I had every test you can think of except a MRI. I was treated very well and was told that because of my age and being a foreigner every precaution and oversight would be taken. I’m very happy with my treatment and the kindness given to me. 👍🇻🇳
Love the local doctors and dentists in Vietnam. Love Vietnam!
