Late night Private Driver from Airport (SGN) to hote – Ho Chi Minh City Forum

Hi….First time going to Vietnam and looking for private taxi/driver to take my husband and I from Ho Chi Minh Airport to Liberty Central Saigon Centre ( I believe this is District 1). I see many services offered on Trip Advisor but they all seem to end service at 11pm or 11:30pm at the latest.

My flight gets in at 10pm and by the time I pass immigration and retrieve my luggage, it may be past this 11:30 pick up time.

Can anyone list some good transportation companies that operate past midnight, should we need a very late transport? I hesitate to book companies that end service at 9pm or even 11pm

.Thanks in advance.

Oh…I also have used GRAB taxi but since I’ll be so tired, I wanted to just be greeted by someone holding my name on placard outside EXIT gate form immigration. ( i think i will be super tired)

” Vina Sun drivers all refused to use the meter on Friday!”

Very interesting and disappointing news if that were real VinaSun taxis and not any of the fake cars who look very much like the original ones .

But maybe that’s the ” new normal” when the taxi drivers have to cheat tourist because they cannot otherwise survive….

I’ve now for many years preferred the local bus which is frequent and comfortable enough especially when travelling light.

Day to day around the city agreed but the advice still stands for arriving at hcmc.

Both the Mai Linh and Vinasun guys are still at the rank, busy and ready to put anyone who asks in a proper taxi. Using any other company from the aiport is a lottery. It would be a disaster if those 2 disappeared from the airport.

Outside though I get a Vinasun or MaiLinh once in a blue moon and feel quite sorry for those guys. Grab, Xanh, Be and one or two others are just more convenient. Any of the above will do. I’d say Grab continue to dominate but it is good to install a couple of options for times when it is raining and you need to be somewhere.
