Just wanted to let fellow travelers know that if you are coming to Phu Quoc and are looking for a peaceful and relaxing time don’t stay at the premiere residence emerald Bay. It is mobbed. Yes I know it is peak season but it’s crazy. It looks all shiny and lovely and the room is nice but not a lot of good service as they are so busy. Eggs are just slapped on the counter for anyone to have no one to ask how you would like your eggs ( scrambled omelette etc) just fried eggs. Food is not the best. I am a single lady who saved hard for this trip to take my 2 nieces on an adventure through Vietnam. Every where else we have been for 17 nights has been amazing. This is our last stop before heading home and splurged on a 2 bedroom pool apartment. The pool has a murky film on it and appears like there is no filtration, I’m sure there is somewhere just can’t see it. We have a lovely kitchen and dining area however no utensils or bottle opener to open a bottle of beer to sit and enjoy the outside area of apartment. When I enquired with guest services they advised me they have a shortage of openers but I could borrow one for 200,000dI wasn’t paying $11 AUD to open a bottle of beer in my private room. When asked to speak to manager they said they could send someone up to my room in half an hour to open it for me then just call them when I want another one open. Really. Just completely disappointed that I saved hard for this experience to be let down at the last stop. I have to say I never complain as I work within the tourist sector so know it’s challenges. I did my research before I came here but premier Residence is not for me. Was also supposed to get a ticket to symphony of the seas show in sunset Town. They took our picture sent us out on a bus but no tickets so didn’t see the show. When we turned up to the kiss of the seas and I explained where we were staying and that premier Residence had taken our facial picture for facial recognition to enter the show the said no we couldn’t enter. I’ve just clarified with the hotel and that shouldn’t have happened,so just another tip for those who decide to stay.Like I said I never complain but wanted fellow travelers to hear my story and make your own minds up. Look they have a beautiful pool and beautiful beachfront area so there is some pluses. I’m sure some people will knock me down but this is my honest personal experience.

Write a honest review, people tend to avoid honests reviews because the staff is nice and smiley, but actually what everybody that is travelling is looking for, is to know in advance those types of experiences.
Thank you for the post and it’s good to know. Unfortunately, a lot of them do take the piss (charge to borrow a opener) thinking it’s easy money for them and not realising you can sense check when things are not right. I recommend shooting a complaint to them- how they handle it afterwards it’s on them. Also, do a google review (everyone loves a google review). Hope you and both your nieces weren’t too impacted on that last leg of your trip.
Phu Quoc has never had a good name. We looked at going in 2012 and got bad reports, jumped off the idea and went to Con Dao Island.
Post on TripAdvisor too
Wait, an Australian who needs an actual bottle opener to open a beer? What has happened to Australia??
Always put reviews in Google Maps where everyone can look before booking
😫😫😫 I will never stay there!
Whilst online reviews are really good for fellow travelers, the responses (if you actually get one) are usually just cut & paste.
Sunset beach hotel and spa in Duong Dong was awesome. Right on the beach and so many offerings. Each to catch a bud to the north and south for just 50000d each way
We should have been staying there but we changed our plans last minute and we are staying at the Best Western Premier.
