Itinerary Assistance Needed: 6 Days in Hoi An & Da Nang

This is my first time posting on Reddit😂

I require help with scheduling a 6-day trip to Da Nang and Hoi An planned for late March 2026. I’ve heard that March is a busy time for tourism, so securing accommodation promptly seems advisable. Therefore, I need to finalize a quick itinerary to proceed with my hotel reservations.

We are two women in our 50s, and we are keen on getting some clothes and leather bags custom-tailored. This will be our initial visit to both Da Nang and Hoi An.

Given the intention to have clothing tailored, I recognize that staying in Hoi An is probably the best option. I would greatly appreciate any input on how many nights we should dedicate to our stay in Hoi An. 🙏🏻

Thanks everyone for the replies! Really appreciate it 🙏🏻

I’ve decided to stay the first three nights in Hoi An (for fittings) and last two nights in Da Nang (day tours).

Any feedback on Allegro Hoi An and Hilton Da Nang?

It is a personal choice. Danang and Hoi A both have their ardent fans. The way Danang is developing to the south, it won’t be too long before Hoi An is a suburb of Danang😆.

Danang is a city, with all the pros and cons that entails, it is possible to have a less touristy experience there, depending on what you are looking for.

The “old town” of Hoi An is charming in the early mornings, but fairly horrible (crowded, tacky) in the afternoon and evening. Of course there is more to Hoi An than just the old town and you can stay on an island or at the beach or somewhere in between.

There is tons of accommodation in both, and you have plenty of time- absolutely no need to worry or be hasty about booking anything yet, you have plenty of time, and in fact, some options will not even show as available this far out – so if you are seeing things “unavailable” for your dates, it is more likely that you are too early than too late

somewhere mentioning that March is a peak period so best to book accommodation asap.

    Fake news 😅

Been there done that. It ain’t gonna empty your wallet. Hotels in Da Nang and Hoi An are so cheap with better quality and accommodation compared to Singapore.

In terms of how many nights staying here or there, it doesn’t matter. Da Nang and Hoi An is only 30 mins apart. I often go to Hoi An from Da Nang just for a meal and live music.
