I’m visiting Vietnam for the first time in mid December. I really want to see the Sapa area, but I am afraid it’s going to be very cold. We are warm weather folks and also want to do some scuba diving in the south. I only have about 15 days. Am I biting off more than I can chew?

One week in Sapa is plenty… kinda chilli but not too bad, Bring some long johns to be warm. They got plenty of hats, scarfs, and gloves to buy – keep you warm. Also note that not all hotels have good heating for winter time. Go to market place – buy jerky and dried mango for good snacks. Find the cinnamon mountain tea to achieve maximum enlightenment.
Mid December is very cold in Sa Pa. If you don’t like the cold then it’s definitely not for you.
We went in March last year and it was freezing on a night .. 3 days in zero visibility.. we weren’t fans of it to be honest,, our least fave place
It is cold in SaPa and can be rainy too. All m friends who went there they loved it. I have not been there yet. So i can not speak of it.
